Laser light treatment to reduce pain
Deep Tissue Laser Treatment, a process known as photobiostimulation, is an innovative, scientifically based therapeutic modality to offer advanced pain relief and faster healing time. Deep, penetrating light energy can bring about physiological changes while inflammation and pain are reduced triggered by changes in cellular chemistry.
This type of therapy does not require the use of drugs or surgery and there are no known side effects or risks. In addition, results are usually achieved faster than with other treatment modalities and the treatment is delivered by the pleasant sensation of a deep soothing warmth as the laser stimulates cellular activity.
Healthcare has benefited dramatically through the use of lasers and allows for the treatment of a variety of conditions. The laser is non-invasive, will not generate tissue damage and is very effective for the treatment of soft tissue injuries, sprains and strains, as well as other ailments and pain.
Some of the benefits of deep tissue laser treatment include:
- Short term reduction of pain
- Reduction of inflammation, swelling and scar tissue formation
- Improvement of nerve functions
- Development of muscle tissue and collagen
- Reduction of muscle spasms
For most treatments, the laser is capable of reaching depths of 6 to 9 inches, which is deep into the tissues, and therefore ideal for treating arthritis, calcified muscles and fibrotic adhesions. Treatments are usually done in 5 to 15 minutes and often only a few visits are required to show improvement.
Among the conditions that can be evaluated for treatment are:
- Neck pain
- Back pain and spinal conditions
- Sports injuries
- Hamstring tears
- Arthritis pain
