Innovations in lasers and other energy-wave devices
Technology continues to advance with new treatment methods for conditions that laser can address and remedy. Whether it be the removal of a tattoo, unwanted hair, stretch marks, scar removal and many more conditions, there is now a laser treatment to take care of these jobs. Technology is moving rapidly and new methods of treatment, including other "energy" treatments such as radio frequency and intense pulsed light, are being used to expand the minimally invasive techniques available for cosmetic conditions.
Among the new technologies are:
- Zerona - a low-level laser to liquefy fat and create timy openings within individual cells to allow fat to flow out. This procedure works on fat directly underneath the skin and will leave no scars, no surgery and no pain.
- Fractionalized laser - using tiny light beams this process creates random microchannels that penetraate deep into the inner layer of skin. The untreated skin surrounding the microchannels helps the healing process so the skin trated with the laser heals significantly faster than with traditional lasers. This procedure is often used to treat sun damage, both brown spots and skin growths, as well as fine lines.
- Laser-Assisted Eye-Lifts - use laser heat to sculpt and tighten areas underneath the skin to achieve results which come close to those of traditional surgery. A laser is inserted below the skin of the eye through a small needle stick to melt fatty deposits of bothh the lower eyelids and mid-face.
- Matrix RF - uses radio-frequency energy to smooth out skin texture to reduce the appearance of scarring and other textural abnormalities without creating pigment loss and scarring on darker skin.
